The Phoenix Residence has a current opening for a full-time Program Director. The Program Director provides overall direction and management of the community-based ICF/DD and Waiver/Foster Care programs including programmatic and residential services. The Program Director supervises three Community Living Coaches (CLC); responsible for the management, training, and evaluation of the CLC team and their ability to ensure the overall management of their designated programs.
The Program Director is responsible for the facilitation of the pre-admission screening process and for the oversight of the admission process. Working with individuals to identify appropriate service options and will develop partnerships in the community to creatively serve individuals as they desire.
The Program Director maintains knowledge of industry trends. Is familiar with and well-versed in Person-Centered Principles and creates training and best practices to implement in all Phoenix programs.
Bachelors’ Degree in Human Services such as sociology, human services, or psychology related field and three or more years of supervisory or management experiences in long-term and/or residential settings
Requires extensive writing and communication skills as well as effective decision making and problem solving skills
Ability to work with various team members along with excellent public relation skills
Maintains a flexible work schedule and assumes a 24-hour on-call responsibility; working as needed and provides assistance with coverage as needed
Work environment requires the ability to travel between sites as needed and requires frequent standing, walking, desk work, on-going communication, and contact with other services providers
Occasionally may have to provide direct care services, including but not limited to assisting with activities of daily living, lifting and transferring individuals, and pushing/pulling wheelchairs
Understands and complies with all policies and procedures and the philosophy of The Phoenix Residence and all applicable rules and regulations of licensing and certification agencies
Maintains and fosters cordial relationships and optimal communication between residents, families, staff, and outside agencies
Serve as the lead for residential program development to include Best Practices

Facilities are staffed continuously, providing assistance to the residents, as well as providing necessary medical and nursing care; programmatic services; and dietary, laundry maintenance, housekeeping and financial services. Programs are designed to encourage the greatest degree of independence possible, while fostering the respect and dignity deserved by each person. Residents are assisted and trained to become as proficient as feasible, given their physical and mental disabilities, in all activities of daily living. The services enhance the ability of each resident to be aware of and to understand and become involved with the community. Employees work diligently on community acceptance of person with disabilities. Regular community activities of daily living include movies, shopping, sporting events and other recreational and educational events of interest to the individuals.
