We are passionate, knowledgeable, and forward-thinking employees, volunteers, board members, supporters, and other involved community members with a mission of helping people with mental illness lead quality lives. We believe that people with mental illness are larger than the definition of their diagnosis. So, we partner with the individuals we serve, sticking with them through progress and set-backs, symptoms, medications, and side-effects, good days and not so good days.
We do this work because we know that with the right treatment and services, hard work, and perseverance, people with mental illness can and do get better.
We know because we experience it every day.
We are a not-for-profit (501c3) corporation governed by a Board of Directors representing the communities we serve and we are an enrolled provider with Minnesota Health Care Programs and other health plans.
And, we are an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
In Our Vision, individuals and families living and coping with mental illness have easy access to cost-effective mental and physical healthcare that provides responsive, customized, and practical services, so they can achieve optimal health

Who We Serve
Mothers, Fathers, Sons, Daughters, Brothers, Sisters, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Best Friends, Co-Workers, Students, Graduates, History Buffs, Artists, Sports-Lovers, Musicians, and Writers…
We serve adults (18 years and older) who live and cope with serious mental illness – diseases like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depression. And, many face additional challenges such as chronic physical conditions, isolation, poverty, and substance use.
Despite these kinds of challenges, 81% of the individuals we serve live in their own homes. And, they have goals and dreams for their future.
Why (and How) We Do It
1 in 17 Americans have serious mental illness. 1 in 5 families is affected. You probably know someone with mental illness. With statistics like these, most of us do.
That’s why on any given day, you’ll find many of us at Guild out in the community providing service to about 850 individuals. For us, “in the community” means delivering services to people when and where they need them most, like in their homes, during a doctor’s appointment, or on the street.
Mental illness affects every area of a person’s life, so we integrate psychiatric treatment and supportive services to help individuals reach their own personal goals. We do this by taking the time to recognize their strengths and to hear them out. Then, we tailor our services to meet their individual needs and preferences.
